Changes to the Board of FundaMaya Canada

FundaMaya Canada (FMC) was started in 2005 by Robin Pawliuk and her daughter, Leigh Born.  After visits to Guatemala they realized the huge need of many indigenous Maya families for basic necessities:  food, clothing, household basics.  With the support of family and friends they started this charity and built an amazing legacy.

Today the founders and their family are taking a step back to pursue family and retirement interests.  They have entrusted their 'baby' to me, Lois B. Reimer, to continue their work as President and Board Chair.  I first became involved in 2015 going on a volunteer trip with (FMC); it was my 3rd trip to Guatemala, a country and people I'd grown to love.  I joined the board in 2019 eventually taking on the responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the organization.  I am honoured to continue this work along with new board members and with our friends at Funcación Familia Maya in Panjachel.

Pamela Farron, Bob Murray, Erin Reimer-Mayzes, and McKayla Reimer are new volunteers on the Board.  You can learn more about them in the 'About Us' section.

Thank you to all our amazing donors.  We look forward to continuing the work together.
