This mother/daughter team have been given the support to buy the supplies needed to begin their own weaving business.  This single mother is supporting 4 children and the grandmother.  They struggled to put food on the table and initially had no sponsors for the children's education.  Along came one very special woman who not only sponsors all 4 children but provides the family with food monthly.   

The mother and daughter had a dream of their own.  The eldest daughter will work with her mother to weave the fabrics to make this dream a reality.  The sponsor generously permitted the daughter's sponsorship funds to be used as capital to get them started.  This will give them the foundation to develop a sustainable business that helps them help themselves.  Having this opportunity not only increases their income but also their self-esteem and confidence.  It will set an example for the younger children that there is hope for a better future.

Fundamaya staff in Guatemala met with the two women to discuss business practices and left feeling confident about their ability to succeed.
